why you should change your car's oil at 5000km

Oil age is almost same for all, about 10.000 km or more for oil "super". but if you live in the city that traffic jam happen everyday, when you stuck in the traffic jam, there happen the worst oil degradation.

the cause of oil degradation from the traffic jam :

-kilometres that lost because to much stop. when you jammed the oddometer doesn't record the time spent for stuck in the road with engine and air conditioner turn on. if every 10 km need 1 hour travel time when jammed, while the average speed in the city about 50 kph, so you lost +/-40kilometres every get jammed for 1 hour/10km.

so if a day you get 1 hour stuck, there is 40km that no recorded in oddometer, multiplied with 90 day (5000km = 3 months), your oil get bonus 3600km, so actually your engine has 8600 km road. (imagine if you change your oil in 10.000km, that means you change it in 17.200 km!)

think you still need another 1400km (10.000-8600) ? wait... don't forget other factor, namely:
-idle in the extreme temperature! yes, when your car get stuck in the jammed it doesn't get fresh air supply, the oil will work harder till the limit.

-and also the gas pollution from other vehicles which sucked throught the filter, make imperfect combustion, gradually absorbed by the oil (which make the oil black/dark) and stuck to the piston and head cylinder.

so if you love your car, here is some advice :
-whenever possible, select a route that has minimal traffic jam, same travel time but longer way is better then stuck in jammed. fuel consumption are similiar but you will get engine durability and clarity of the oddometer, and don't forget you will more "enjoy" your driving.. :D

-keep the oil change schedule on time. oil at 5000-7000 km, and filter every 2 times oil change.

-use quality oil, good oil tend to be more durable then conventional oil, this extra resistance needed when you "can't prevent the traffic jam" or can't change the oil at the exact time.

-remember, that oil is like a blood in the human, dirty blodd = bad blodd = disease. the disease couldn't be feel but can suddently attact and bang! as well as the car engine, the effect may be slow and not appear but suddenly bang! don't let it happen to your car!

porting n polish (PnP) is a manual hand work that aim to improve the volumetric efficiency of a machine.

volumetric efficiency is a quantity in percentage (%). it's a mixture of air & gas that obtained on the engine.

example : for a 2000cc engine with 70% volumetric efficiency mean : each cylinder (500cc) engine they will be charged 70%x500cc mixture of air and gas.

volumetric efficiency of the N/A engine will not reach 100% due to the number of barriers from the flow of mixture of air and fuel from the intake manifold,valve,air intake,throttle body,etc.

standart engine from the factory usually only 70% volumetric efficiency, with PnP the volumetric will more improved up to 80%-85%.

because of more efficient, that's mean will produce better performance. so,the assumption that the PnP become wasteful is wrong (if the PnP do correctly), because usually aftar the PnP, the driver is so happy to open the throttle deeply and make the car more wasteful. but if using the car with normal condition, fuel consumption would be more efficient because more efficient engine performance.
